We are seeking an energetic and innovative Head of Department - Health & Physical Education to join the team at Murrumba State Secondary College until 12 December 2025.
You will be a skilled instructional leader with strong organisational skills, and you will lead curriculum in line with strategic vision and develop school planning, with a focus on quality teaching and learning for improved student achievements.
This is a temporary full-time position until 12 December 2025, with the possibility of extension.

About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and committed leader for the temporary position of Head of Department (locally known as Leader of Learning) - Health & Physical Education.
The successful applicant will lead the continued development and implementation of programs, systems and processes regarding curriculum, teaching and learning in the HPE faculty. They will work closely with staff to optimise conditions for and efficacy of teacher practice within the faculty.
Another aspect of the role is a "Pride Leader" which involves responsibility for supporting two "Pride Classes" in Bragg house, ensuring learning, wellbeing and engagement needs of all students are met. The successful candidate will require expertise in curriculum, teaching and learning, workplace health and safety measures, strong leadership capabilities and will have the drive, passion and commitment necessary to lead faculty staff and students on a journey from good to great.
In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
* Lead the curriculum focus and school department in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
* Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
* Set high standards for student and staff performance.
