Family Support Professional Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Support Professional to join our community-based program.
* This is a part-time and fixed-term contract with possible extension opportunities.
* The successful candidate will work collaboratively with families experiencing complex issues, providing family-focused and outcome-based services.
* You will support families in meeting their needs, with a focus on cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care.
About the Role
As a Family Support Professional, you will be responsible for:
* Advocating for the needs of vulnerable families and contributing to case plans.
* Fostering respectful relationships with stakeholders, service providers, and the community.
* Developing and implementing case plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
* Ensuring that the voices of clients and families are heard in case planning and goal setting.
* Supporting and engaging parents and children in playgroup activities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Relevant qualifications in the Human Services field (Diploma of Community Services or equivalent; Degree qualifications preferred).
* Practical experience in working with vulnerable families and an ability to identify families at risk.
* Demonstrated expertise in family-centered case management.
* Knowledge of the Community Services sector, trauma and its impacts, crisis impacts on families, child protection issues, and legislation.
