The Director of Learning Enrichment - Middle School plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, tailored to meet the needs of students with specific learning difficulties as well as those with high intellectual potential, focusing on early identification and intervention strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
* Implement the Response to Intervention Model using diverse diagnostic tools.
* Provide tailored teaching experiences aligned with current special and gifted education practices.
* Offer in-class support and intensive programs for students' specific needs.
* Build staff capacity through the development and implementation of differentiated programs.
* Maintain accurate student records and develop individual learning plans.
* Coordinate data collection, special provisions, and referral processes for learning support.
* Manage resources and staff, including teacher aides and volunteers.
* Communicate effectively regarding the learning enrichment approach within the School and to the wider community.
* Contribute to academic leadership through meetings, professional development and data analysis.
* Attend sub-school key events, including parent-teacher interviews.
Pastoral Care
* Provide pastoral care for all students, particularly students with additional needs.
* Engage with parents to create a partnership for effective communication and collaborative plans.
* Support co-curricular activities.
* Maintain accurate records of pastoral care activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Strong leadership and management abilities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Competence in fostering a positive learning environment for diverse learners
* Knowledge of educational technology tools and resources
* A minimum of 5 years experience in an educational leadership role, preferably in a middle school setting
* A track record of successful collaboration with parents, staff, and the wider community
