The Opportunity:
TheYard & Equipment Manager leads the Equipment & Yard teams with coordination and support to all internal departments (e.g. office, yard, sales, customer service, finance etc.)
General Responsibilities
Manage, monitor, maintain and implement the auction site's Inspection Services Program standards, procedures, best practices and guidelines and integrate those efforts with the yard layout and equipment set up procedures.
Manage direct and indirect reports as you work to develop a strong team with clear succession plans, including setting performance objectives and conducting annual performance reviews.
Assist the training department with developing and delivering related training and certification programs to employees as required.
Assist in the onboarding and training of the site staff (Operations, Sales, Admin etc).
Maintain strong connectivity with the EHS Business Partner and promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees is top priority for all.
Assist in the development, evolution and adherence of our policies and procedures including our efforts to achieve COR certification.
Oversee the efforts of Refurbishing as it relates to the operation's needs, staffing schedule, budget, quality control and accounting of refurbishing operations.
Oversee site maintenance management and contractors on site.
Oversee the customer experience as it relates to Yard and Inspections at the auction site.
Recommend best practices to improve Yard and Inspections processes.
Oversee the production of sale advertising materials.
Monitor key performance indicators.
Integrate the efforts of the Operation's Team with the objectives of the Sales team.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director Operations or the Field Ops Manager.
Here's what you bring:
You have at least 5 years experience in customer facing roles, and team Management.
Previous experience within heavy equipment or transport industry, or a desire to learn.
Intermediate proficiency level in current MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Proficiency using technology such as computers and digital cameras and handheld devices.
Strong written, spoken, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong customer service orientation.
You have a natural ease dealing with customers.
You're a resourceful, "think-on-your-feet" person with drive, initiative, and a real commitment to getting the job done.
Excellent organizational skills, you're the type that leaves no detail unattended.
Excellent time management skills, the ability to multi-task multiple projects and initiatives effectively and prioritize work are essential.
Highly capable of meeting strict deadlines in a high-pressure, ever-changing environment.
You must also have the ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
Highly motivated, goal-oriented and self-directed.
Energetic, can-do attitude
You have a strong work ethic without sacrificing your sense of humor or your ability to have fun on the job.
