About NAAFLS
The North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Service (NAAFLS) is a not-for-profit organisation delivering holistic legal and support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence. With offices across the Top End, our work is grounded in cultural respect, community collaboration, and self-determination.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and culturally grounded Case Worker (Intake and Assessment) to join our dynamic team. This role is a vital first point of contact for Aboriginal victim-survivors of domestic, family, and sexual violence accessing NAAFLS services. Working closely with the admin and case worker teams, the position ensures a safe, culturally responsive intake process. It focuses on early support, trauma-informed triage, and appropriate referrals to legal, therapeutic, or support services—reducing re-traumatisation and improving client outcomes.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with policies and legislation
* Strong, culturally sensitive communication skills with Aboriginal clients
* Ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
* Flexible, non-judgemental, and empowering approach to service delivery
* Capable of working independently and in multidisciplinary teams
