We’ve partnered with a private Australian property investment group focused on growth, handling all parts of property ownership - from the initial planning and building right through to long-term upkeep. They specialise in developing high-quality residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties, with a focus on cutting-edge design and community enrichment. About the role: We are seeking a commercially strong facilities professional to take ownership of portfolio-wide planning, systems and financial management across a diverse set of retail and mixed-use assets. This is a head office role where you will bring structure, intelligence and discipline to how assets are maintained, planned and governed. You will partner closely with the on-site operations lead, but your focus is the strategic, technical and financial side of facilities, not day-to-day coordination. You are not on the tools. Your value is in building the systems, budgets and governance that allow the on-site operations team to execute with confidence. You will translate operational insight into financial models, lifecycle plans and clear procedures. You will shape how the facilities function works, improve visibility of spend, tighten compliance and embed a more proactive way of managing assets. It is a rare opportunity to build the operating model from the ground up for a business entering an exciting period of growth. What you’ll do: Build and manage annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets. Forecast lifecycle needs and planning asset replacements. Implement CMMS, compliance frameworks and facility management systems. Design preventative maintenance programmes. Run tenders and negotiating service contracts. Ensure WHS and regulatory compliance. Support operational readiness for new developments. This role is ideal for you if: You enjoy building systems, processes and governance rather than reacting to day-to-day tasks. You are strong with numbers and understand how to model budgets and develop lifecycle forecasts. You think in frameworks and can turn operational complexity into structured plans. This role may not suit you if: You are looking for a site-based or tool-focused role. You prefer large corporate structures with multiple reporting layers. You see facilities management purely as reactive maintenance rather than a strategic discipline. About you: 12 to 15 years of experience in facilities, technical operations or asset management within owner, developer or large portfolio environments. Strong financial capability, including budgeting, forecasting and lifecycle planning. Experience implementing CMMS and compliance systems and understand how to build structured frameworks that scale. Understanding of WHS, risk and regulatory requirements across complex assets. Experience with scope and tender contracts, manage service models and identify operational efficiencies. Can write and communicate clearly and can work directly with owners at a senior level. Tertiary qualifications in engineering, property, construction management, finance or a related field will be highly regarded and align well with the analytical nature of the role. Why you'll love working here: Senior package with performance incentives. Head office role with visibility and influence at owner level. The chance to build the FM operating model from the ground up. A long-term owner committed to holding and improving high-quality assets. A pivotal position during a major growth phase, with real scope to shape how the portfolio operates for years to come.
