We're a family‐run business deeply rooted in values that span generations. As we expand, we're looking for an MC Truck Driver to join us on this exciting journey and play a pivotal role in the future of Rombola Family Farms. This position could potentially become permanent.
Key accountabilities include
* Manoeuvring vehicles into position for loading and unloading
* Loading and unloading vehicles using lifting and tipping devices
* Observing safety requirements when loading and unloading vehicles
* Making regular quality checks of vehicles to ensure they can be driven safely
* Estimating weights to comply with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
* Ensuring goods are stowed and securely covered to prevent loss and damage
* Verifying loading documents, checking condition of goods and obtaining certification of deliveries
* Performs miscellaneous job‐related duties as assigned
To be successful in the role you will possess the following
* Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.)
* Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
* Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
* Ability to drive long hours
* Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
* Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
* Excellent attention to detail
* Initiative and integrity
* Team player
* Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets
* A current driver's licence
* A relevant truck driver licence
