As a Vocational Support Officer, you will provide on‐the‐job instruction, accredited training, and supervision to prisoners to support their rehabilitative journey.

- Cabinet Shop Instructor – VSO 3 (Monday – Friday)
- Paint Shop Instructor – VSO 3 (Monday – Friday)
- Vocational Skills Instructor – VSO 3 (Monday – Friday)
- Industrial Relief Instructor – VSO 3 (Monday – Friday; may be Monday‐Friday or Shift Work)
- Construction Maintenance Instructor – VSO 3
- Construction Maintenance Supervisor – VSO 4
Qualifications
Cabinet Shop Instructor / Cabinet Shop Supervisor
- Certificate III in Cabinet Making and/or Certificate III in Furniture Making
- Construction Industry White Card
Construction Maintenance Instructor / Construction Maintenance Supervisor
- Certificate III in a construction trade (e.g., Brick and Block Laying, Carpentry and Joinery)
- Certificate III in Building and Construction
- Certificate III in Building Maintenance
- Certificate III in Appliance Service
- Construction Industry White Card
Paint Shop Instructor
- Certificate III in Painting and Decorating
Vocational Skills Instructor
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment
- Requirement to attain within 9 months
- Construction trade certificate at Certificate III level
- Construction Industry White Card
Pre‐appointment Requirements
- Clearance through a National Criminal History check and the Departmental integrity assessment
- Evidence of the relevant qualification / academic record (if applicable)
- Current Australian 'C' class motor vehicle driver's licence (no learner's permits, P plates or extraordinary licences)
- Valid Senior First Aid qualification (or equivalent) from an accredited provider
- Willingness to undertake the mandatory four‐week Essential Training Program at the Department's Training Academy, Bentley, WA
