About the role
We have an opportunity for an experienced PMO financial analyst to join an established PMO team.
Reporting to the PMO Manager within the Infrastructure Services division, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all projects are tracking to plan, on budget, and on time. You'll also liaise with project team members to gather, analyse, and monitor project financial data, as well as assist and prepare financial project status reports.
You will also be responsible for developing and implementing project financial processes and working collaboratively with others to ensure that the processes are fit for purpose, easy to understand and adopt.
You will be providing leadership on best practice for financial month-end and will support the resource analyst within the PMO to ensure that demand and resource forecasts are captured and documented accurately.
The role will suit someone with demonstrated experience as a Finance analyst (from any industry) who loves to delve into data, provide insights and can lead the conversation on financial month-end position.
Job Requirements
1. Ensure all relevant financial information is captured and reported accurately this includes budgets, actual costs, forecasts to complete/at complete and variances
2. Support & ensure Project Manager/Program Manager to track project financials provide insights & reporting.
3. Ensuring compliance to month-end process, dates, and updates with month-end results.
4. Ensure financial forecasts are captured into required systems & tools.
5. Provide month-end reports that shows spend v actual profile (Burn rates) and required insights including investigating any material variances.
6. Provide slides & commentary for required month-end reporting packs (including financial variance commentary).
7. Support procurement & invoice tracking, keep required records.
8. Provide a detailed report on resources time sheeting inaccurately (timesheet compliance), provide remediation as required, support monthly close.
9. Support Senior resource analyst to help obtain resource forecasts and report accurately.
10. Support required conversations, meetings, and escalations for resourcing.
11. Educate and present to relevant staff on financial management and business practices.
12. Assist as required with the delivery of other PMO functions as necessary during absence of other team members.
13. Work collaboratively within the PMO service and help drive a continuous improvement mindset and culture.
The successful applicant will have the following experience:
14. Strong Financial experience within a Project Services environment
15. Experience developing and implementing financial processes
16. Previous experience working in an PMO environment in a similar role
17. PMO and/or project management certification across multiple project and portfolio delivery methods (PMI, Prince2, P3O, Agile, etc.)
18. Strong project management experience using PPM tools, and collaboration tools
19. Ability to multitask and deal with conflicting priorities and ability to prioritize activity for the best outcomes
20. Ability to demonstrate leadership, drive results, and solve problems
21. Excellent stakeholder management skills.
