Our QLD Government client is currently seeking a Manager – Transit Data to be responsible for overseeing the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of customer‐facing transit data, with a core focus on GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) and its extensions.
This role ensures that public transport information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with industry standards to support journey planning, accessibility, and customer experience across digital platforms.
This role requires attendance to the Customer's Site for a minimum of three (3) days per week.
As the Manager – Transit Data, you will:
* Lead the development and maintenance of GTFS datasets, including core feeds and extensions, such as GTFS-Pathways and GTFS-Flex.
* Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards and best practices.
* Establish and apply data governance frameworks, standards, and quality controls for customer‐facing transit data.
* Oversee data validation processes, tools, and workflows, including investigation and resolution of data quality issues.
* Stay current with developments in GTFS and data related standards.
* Support digital and customer‐facing initiatives by ensuring transit data is fit‐for‐purpose for journey planning, accessibility, and digital channels.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Ability to work effectively with digital delivery teams, schedulers, developers, UX designers, and operational stakeholders to ensure transit data meets customer and business needs.
* Strong skills in engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including public transport operators, accessibility specialists, vendors, and policy teams, to gather requirements, explain data standards, and resolve issues.
* Ability to communicate complex data concepts, standards, and constraints in plain language to both technical and non‐technical audiences, including through documentation, presentations, and workshops.
* Capability to lead by influence rather than authority, providing guidance on GTFS standards, data governance, and best practices while fostering shared ownership of data quality.
* A proactive and solutions‐focused approach to resolving data quality, integration, and consistency issues in collaboration with multiple teams.

Casual Loading
