After Hours Family Violence Specialist
Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate After Hours Family Violence Specialist to join their team. This role will play a critical part in delivering high-quality support services to women and children experiencing family violence across the Bayside Peninsula Region.
About the Role:
The After Hours Family Violence Specialist will be responsible for providing face-to-face and over-the-phone support to clients, conducting risk assessments, and developing safety plans. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of family violence dynamics, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assessing referrals and providing a family violence response
* Providing specialist family violence support after hours to victim survivors
* Conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans
* Collaborating with other services and stakeholders to increase client safety
* Providing psychoeducation and emotional support
* Supporting clients with emergency accommodation needs
* Completing outreach activities in diverse locations
Qualifications and Experience:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent qualification, or have a minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates may demonstrate significant cultural knowledge and experience or lived experience of family violence.
