Remuneration: $58.95 - $60.86 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging.

Location: The Maitland Hospital.

Employment Type: Temporary, Part Time – Until January 2027.

Position Classification: Occupational Therapist Level 3.

Hours per Week: 20.

About The Role

In this role, you will provide safe, compassionate, person‐centred care with a high level of autonomy to patients within the Maitland region and surrounding areas. You'll have the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that patient needs are met in the home setting. This position will be Monday to Friday roster, day shift only based at Maitland Hospital. Support will be provided by a senior member of the occupational health discipline as well as operationally by a nurse unit manager. Comprehensive orientation and training will be provided at the commencement of the role, including access to the My Health Learning portal for education and professional development. Additional professional development opportunities are also possible within the Hospital in the Home specialty.

Where You'll Be Working

The Hospital in the Home program provides hospital‐level care in patients' homes, supporting acute wards and alleviating pressure on hospital beds. Our team, including occupational therapists, physio, nurses and doctors, manage both home‐based treatment and prescriptions of care. This integrated approach ensures seamless care across hospital and home settings, enhancing patient outcomes and efficiency.

About You

* Independently manage a patient list, visiting patients in their homes and providing on‐the‐spot clinical care
* Work collaboratively with doctors and liaise with the MDT to ensure optimal patient outcomes
* Advocate for patients and their families, offering guidance and support throughout the care process
* Maintain accurate patient documentation and care plans
* Use your strong clinical background to problem‐solve and address complex patient needs in a home setting

* Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA

Additional Information

To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa. An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part time vacancies.
