About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Electrical Preventative Maintenance Technician to carry out scheduled electrical maintenance across a diverse portfolio of commercial and retail sites, including petroleum service stations, banks, supermarkets, and government facilities. The role focuses on compliance-driven preventative maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and asset longevity.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative and planned electrical maintenance in accordance with site maintenance schedules
* Inspect, test, and maintain:
* Main switchboards and distribution boards
* Emergency and exit lighting systems
* General power and lighting circuits
* RCDs and protective devices
* Conduct testing, tagging, and reporting of electrical equipment
* Identify potential faults and recommend corrective actions
* Ensure all works comply with Australian Standards, WHS requirements, and site-specific safety procedures
* Complete accurate service reports and compliance documentation
* Liaise with clients, site managers, and compliance officers
Essential Requirements
* Current Australian Electrical Licence
* Valid White Card
* Current Driver's Licence
* Experience in commercial and/or retail maintenance environments
* Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites
Australian Standards & Compliance
All work must comply with, but is not limited to:
* AS/NZS 3000 – Electrical Installations (Wiring Rules)
* AS/NZS 3019 – Electrical Installations – Periodic Assessment
* AS/NZS 3760 – In-service Safety Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment
* AS/NZS 2293 – Emergency Lighting and Exit Signs
* WHS Act & Regulations (Australia)
Desirable
* Experience in petroleum or hazardous area environments
* Emergency lighting accreditation
* Previous work in government or critical infrastructure sites
