About the Role
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care to our patients, and we currently have two casual vacancies based at Tūārangi Home in Ashburton.
As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment. You will enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, a high level of confidentiality and the ability to work well under pressure.
This role is primarily based in Tūārangi Home, however at times you may be required to work in some of the other wards at Ashburton Hospital.
About the Service
Tūārangi Home is a 37 bed Residential Care facility that provides hospital level and dementia care at both rest home and hospital levels. We are a skilled and dedicated workforce, working within the dementia and hospital units to provide quality care in a friendly environment. We believe that dignity of all individuals is paramount, and at Tūārangi we diligently maintain an atmosphere of empathy, non-judgmental and respectful care.
About You
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team
* Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
* Previous experience in a Healthcare Assistant role or similar is advantageous, but not essential
* Previous experience working with people with dementia is advantageous, but not essential
* A certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or 4) or a willingness to work towards one
* Ability to cover shifts across Monday - Sunday; morning, afternoon and nights
