The Sommelier is a crucial role within our organization, responsible for driving and developing the wine program to world-class standards. Key objectives include managing operational and staffing requirements, maintaining high standards of service, and continually analyzing performance against stated objectives.
Core responsibilities involve overseeing the wine program, product, and service across all F&B departments. This includes working closely with Director of Food & Beverage to ensure accurate cellar and wine lists, as well as continuously increasing minimum spends per head. The successful candidate will also be accountable for people management, including staff inductions and training.
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional personal presentation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure without negative impact. Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and the capacity to establish rapport easily are essential attributes for this role.
Key qualifications include a current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, with the ability to maintain hygienic work practices and adhere to all procedures, including security and Workplace Health and Safety Act.
