Responsibilities
* Oversee the organisation's systems for managing cost compliance requirements, ensuring accurate identification, reporting, and governance of specific financial activities.
* Lead, support, and develop a dedicated compliance and review team, maintaining internal policies, tools, and procedures.
* Partner with finance teams across the organisation to provide guidance on cost categorisation and project financial management.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and process enhancement for cost management systems.
* Maintain and update compliance documentation to reflect current operational practices and ensure timely and accurate external submissions.
* Manage external audits and reviews relating to financial compliance, coordinating responses and maintaining strong professional relationships with oversight bodies.
* Collaborate with finance and project teams to offer expert advice on contractual compliance and support audit readiness across key programs.
* Promote and ensure adherence to organisational health, safety, and wellbeing policies.
* Provide leadership and career development support to a high-performing team, ensuring clear objectives, coaching, and professional growth opportunities.
* Ensure organisational compliance with applicable external financial regulations and requirements.
* Maintain strong, proactive relationships with external regulatory and auditing bodies.
* Deliver effective leadership and management of a specialist compliance team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile
You are CA or CPA qualified with broad experience across financial, management, and project accounting in a mid to large-sized business. You may bring experience from a commercial environment or will have an audit background within a top-tier firm at a management level. You bring strong attention to detail, excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills. You take a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and thrive in complex, dynamic environments. People leadership will be highly regarded although not essential so long as you can demonstrate the ability to work within a team, collaborate or mentor.
