Job Description: POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE Human Resources Manager DIVISION Human Resources Location Mascot NSW REPORTS TO Manager of Human Resources KEY ACCOUNTABILITY Working collaboratively, the Human Resources Manager will be responsible for providing day-to-day human resources tactical and operational support, advice, guidance and solutions, which enable key clients to effectively deliver their people plans, and the business to achieve its Human Resources strategy, Business Priorities and organisational vision. POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Work with management of the Store Operations and Loss Prevention, to ensure the effective implementation and management of Human Resources policies, practices, and procedures that provide an optimal working environment and promote a culture of excellence and performance. Assist in the management of the industrial relations environment including grievance and dispute resolution, counselling, legal interpretation, legislative compliance, with escalation to the Manager of Human Resources when necessary. Contribute to the development and implementation of performance management policies and practices that align individual performance/behaviour to the business’s strategic imperatives. Drive the annual goal setting, performance and planning and review process. Work with business Leaders and the Human Resources team to create and drive a talent strategy across Store Operations and Loss Prevention, to include identification of top talent, succession planning, bench strength and the overall career development of associates. Support the identification of training and development initiatives to meet specific business needs. Participate in the design, implementation and management of compensation initiatives to ensure that compensation practices are linked in the overall strategy to attract, reward, and retain top talent. Contribute to the development and implementation of effective EEO initiatives that promote the maintenance of a harmonious work environment and comply with legislative requirements. In collaboration with the Work, Health & Safety team, contribute to the implementation and assisting in maintaining an adherence to Workplace Health & Safety practices, at all levels of the business. Initiate, manage and contribute to major Human Resources reports, projects, committees, reviews and/or continuous improvement activities. Undertake other duties as required. IDEAL EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline. At least 5 years generalist HR experience in Retail or a similar industry. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in compliance, talent attraction, development and movement, driving performance, employee relations and engagement. Demonstrated interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of associate and other stakeholders. Developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, make decisions, set realistic goals and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain composure and effectively handle difficult situations. Ability to get into the details when necessary, but also see the larger picture and help drive strategy.
