Career Opportunities: Research Officer / Senior Research Officer (43965)Requisition ID 43965 -Posted - Population Health - Clinical Epidemiology & Biostatistics - MCRI-Parkville - Australia - VIC - Job Function (1) The opportunity: Join us as a Research Officer / Research Fellow specialising in Bayesian adaptive trial design. In this role, you'll contribute to the design, analysis and reporting of innovative adaptive platform trials, working alongside collaborators across MCRI, the University of Melbourne, and national research networks. You'll play a key role in advancing trial methodology, supporting grant development and scientific publications, and contributing to training in biostatistics and statistical computing. This is a unique opportunity to work on impactful clinical research while developing your expertise and supporting emerging researchers. What you'll do Provide in-depth statistical guidance and support to health professionals on adaptive trial design and analysis Develop and evaluate statistical methods using theory, computer simulation studies, and critically evaluated case studies Lead (a small number of) and contribute to (a much larger number of) scientific manuscripts based on the methodological and clinical research, respectively Assist in both clinical research and methodological grant applications Provide supervision and assistance on research methods to research fellows, as well as Masters and PhD students What you'll bring A PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or closely related discipline Experience working with health professionals in clinical trials Strong understanding of and technical competence with complex statistical models and methods Experience in performing data manipulation and analysis using programming languages such as R or Stata Record of publication of peer-reviewed scientific articles in both methodological and substantive research Experience in or willingness to participate in the supervision or co-supervision of postgraduate students Access a range of salary packaging options—covering entertainment, novated leases, and more Enjoy a variety of flexible work arrangements Work alongside a team that's dedicated to making a real difference Play a key role in advancing work at Australia's largest child health research institute Feel supported through our health and wellbeing program, which includes complimentary access to the Employee Assistance Program Who we are Murdoch Children's Research Institute envisions a transformative future for child health.
