About The Opportunity
A Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) in a Paediatric unit plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to paediatric patients while also fostering the professional growth and development of nursing staff. This specialised nursing professional combines clinical expertise with a passion for teaching and mentoring to enhance the skills and knowledge of nurses working in the paediatric unit.
The CNE is actively involved in providing hands-on training, conducting workshops to ensure competency in paediatric-specific procedures and protocols. They serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff, offering guidance on complex patient cases, new treatment modalities, and advancements in paediatric healthcare.
The Clinical Nurse Educator serves as a mentor and role model, offering guidance and support. They provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and opportunities for professional growth to empower nurses to deliver compassionate and family-centered care to paediatric patients and their families.
The role of a Clinical Nurse Educator is multifaceted, encompassing clinical expertise, teaching skills, mentorship, and leadership qualities to ensure optimal care outcomes for paediatric patients while nurturing the growth and development of nursing staff.
What You'll be Doing:
Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes.
Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in ****, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of statewide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
