Provide end-of-life care for individuals who have requested Voluntary Assisted Dying in accordance with the End-of-Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Act 2021 in facilities of the Department.
* Perform the duties of the Primary Medical Practitioner and/or the Administering Health Practitioner
* Medical Care of Patients
* Support for the families and others involved in patient care
* Administrative and Quality Improvement:
1. Complete documentation as required by the Voluntary Assisted Dying Commission including completion of Hospital records
2. Support quality reviews with regard to care
* Participate as a member of the Health Care Team
* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.

Details of appointment:
Fixed-term full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 - Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3: $216,300 - $310,389 per annum, pro-rata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
Note: Access to the salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to satisfying criteria outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award.
* Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022
Additional allowances and benefits may include:
* Salary packaging options including benefits like living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meals and entertainment annually.
* Motor vehicle allowance of $28,786 per annum, pro-rata
* Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of base salary plus additional payment will be paid from PPS. If not admitted to PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
* Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,974 per annum, pro-rata
* Professional development and accelerated pathways
* A range of leave entitlements, including study leave and Professional Development Support
* Fitness Passport – access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for $13.95/week per person or $25.95 for a family

Eligibility criteria include:
* Holding specialist registration, or
* Being a registered Medical Practitioner who is an International Medical Graduate (IMG) on the specialist pathway, or
* Having a recognized overseas specialist qualification with sufficient experience in the specialty.
