About the role

The Maintenance Fitter reports to the Engineering Design and Manufacturing Manager and is part of the factory operations team. The role is responsible to support the fabrication, manufacturing and installation of machinery, as well as ensuring the efficiency, quality, and performance of existing production processes. This will include (but is not limited to):

- Maintain production machinery, establishing and conducting preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimum performance
- Assist diagnosing faults or breakdowns, undertaking repairs or change outs as required to minimise plant downtime
- Read and interpret plans and drawings with the ability to take measurements to plan layout.
- Design, manufacture, assemble and modify equipment for current and future production processes
- Identify, develop, investigate, and implement proactive suggestions for improved operations, practices, and procedures

About you

You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will demonstrate:

- A relevant Australian Trade Qualification or Trade Recognition Certificate
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to prioritise, handle multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines
- Ability to develop and maintain supportive cross-functional relationships
- Strong technical aptitude with a proactive approach to maintenance issues
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment (steel/metal works highly desirable)
