Chief Programme Scheduler
The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic scheduling leader who excels at transforming complex project data into a clear, actionable master plan. As the Chief Programme Scheduler, you will lead the entire programme schedule function for a landmark Australian defence program.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Provide senior leadership and be the primary point of contact for all programme and project scheduling.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5+ Project Schedulers, ensuring high standards of performance and delivery.
* Develop, integrate, and maintain the Contract Master Schedule, assimilating technical, commercial, and resource information from multiple stakeholders.
* Drive the analysis of project schedules, identify and verify critical path activities, and communicate trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
* Champion continuous improvement by reviewing and streamlining scheduling systems, processes, and tools to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
* Engage confidently with project managers, engineering leads, and commercial teams to ensure schedules are robust, realistic, and aligned with programme objectives.
About You
* Demonstrated experience in a senior or lead scheduling role within a complex project environment (defence, shipbuilding, or heavy engineering highly regarded).
* Proven experience leading, mentoring, and managing a team of schedulers.
* Advanced, hands-on proficiency with Primavera P6 is essential.
* Strong technical skills in data analysis and visualisation tools such as Excel, Power BI, Power Pivot, and SQL.
* A clear, confident communicator who can explain complex scheduling issues to a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Must be eligible to obtain an Australian Department of Defence security clearance.
