Hastwell & Lightfoot is a small, family-owned estate with a passion for crafting quality wines and creating authentic, memorable experiences for everyone who visits. We're looking for a Cellar Door Manager who shares our love of hospitality, storytelling, and community — someone who will help grow our brand while keeping the heart of our business personal, warm, and welcoming.
As our Cellar Door Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of our cellar door, lead our team, and ensure guests feel right at home from the moment they arrive. You'll also champion our wine club, nurture loyal customers, assist with function and event management and help shape the next chapter of our visitor experience.
What You'll Do
* Lead and mentor a small, dedicated team to deliver warm, engaging guest experiences
* Oversee daily cellar door operations — bookings, rostering, stock control, reporting, and presentation
* Conduct wine tastings each weekend that reflect our story, vineyard, and philosophy
* Drive and manage our wine club including recruitment, engagement, data management, member events, and customer communication
* Perform venue tours for functions and events as needed showcasing our spaces with confidence and care
* Support and collaborate on events, long‑table lunches, member days, and tourism activations
* Build strong relationships with visitors, local tourism partners, suppliers, and returning guests
* Maintain compliance with RSA, safety protocols, and operational procedures
* Champion sales growth while always prioritising authentic, memorable hospitality
What We're Looking For
* Experience in hospitality, wine service, retail, tourism, or cellar door management
* Strong leadership skills and the confidence to guide a small, passionate team
* Exceptional customer engagement and communication skills
* Ability to multitask across service, admin, wine club management, etc.
* Demonstrated passion for wine and willingness to grow your knowledge
* Tech‑savvy with POS, Shopify, Rezdy, and basic reporting
* Availability to work Friday through Monday
* A proactive, positive, "pitch in anywhere" attitude
About the Schedule
Our cellar door is open Friday – Monday from 11 am to 4:30 pm.
This position is currently based on a 32‑hour work‑week with 4 8‑hour shifts (approximately 10 am to 6 pm Friday through Monday); however, we're looking for the right person above all else and are willing to discuss hours/days as necessary.
