We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Horticulturist to join our team in Gingin, WA. This is an excellent opportunity
for someone early in their horticultural career to further gain hands-on experience and
develop skills in a supportive and innovative environment.
Key
Responsibilities
* Assist with monitoring
plant health, nutrition, irrigation, and pest/disease management under the
guidance of senior horticultural staff.
* Support the
implementation of best practice horticultural activities to achieve high
yield and quality.
* Help maintain accurate
records of horticultural operations, including spray and irrigation
schedules.
* Participate in research
and development activities, including data collection and trial support.
* Collaborate with the
Operations, Harvest, and Horticulture teams to ensure smooth daily
operations.
* Contribute to a safe
and healthy workplace by following all safety and quality procedures.
* Support continuous
improvement initiatives and be open to learning new skills and approaches.
The
successful candidate will have:
* Tertiary
qualification in Horticulture or a related field (or working towards
completion).
* Willingness
to learn and develop practical skills in plant health, nutrition, irrigation,
and pest/disease management.
* Ability to
identify and communicate issues to senior staff.
* 2-3 years experience in horticulture,
agriculture, or a related field is desirable.
* Willingness
to learn problem-solving techniques in a horticultural setting.
* Basic
computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
* Good
attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
* Organised
and able to manage time and tasks effectively.
* Strong
team player with good communication skills.
* Willingness
to collaborate and take direction from senior team members.
