Full-time Chef position available in Parramatta NSW 2150. Specialising in premium cuts of steak grilled to perfection, we are conducting a search for a dedicated and skilled Chef. Responsibilities and Duties: Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes according to recipes and standards set by the restaurant. Inspect and ensure quality of ingredients used in food preparation, including meats, vegetables and spices. Manage and coordinate kitchen staff, assigning tasks and overseeing their performance to maintain efficiency and quality. Plan menus, taking into account seasonal availability of ingredients, dietary restrictions and customer preferences. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to ensure sufficient stock for daily operations. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines. Utilise various cooking techniques and equipment to achieve desired flavors and textures in dishes. Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and food preparation procedures. Collaborate with management team to develop new menu items and promotional offerings, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant. Qualification, Work Experience and Skills: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Certificate IV or Diploma in Commercial Cookery or Relevant qualifications. A minimum of two years experience in a similar role. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, essential for coordinating with kitchen staff and liaising with other departments. Strong leadership abilities to manage kitchen operations, delegate tasks and motivate team members to achieve common goals. Problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during food preparation and service, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, minimising the risk of foodborne illnesses. Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $75,000 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
