Technical Sales Manager – Truck Bodies & Trailers - Drouin, VIC
CTE is a respected Australian manufacturer of custom truck bodies and trailers, including tilt slides, super tilts and drop decks. With strong industry demand and long-standing customer relationships, the business is entering an exciting growth phase.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to transition and grow our sales function.
This is a low-volume, high-value sales role focused on understanding customer needs, developing tailored solutions and closing warm, inbound opportunities — not high-pressure selling.
The Role
* Manage inbound enquiries and referral-based opportunities
* Develop customised truck body and trailer solutions with customers
* Prepare quotes, specifications and contracts
* Build long-term relationships with customers and dealers
* Work closely with production and engineering teams
* Monitor margins and ensure commercially sound outcomes
* Improve and document sales systems and processes
* Predominantly office-based with some customer travel
About You
* Trade or engineering qualification (or equivalent technical background)
* Minimum 3-5 years experience in heavy vehicle manufacturing, transport equipment or custom manufacturing required. Strong mechanical or fabrication understanding (truck bodies, trailers, heavy vehicles or similar)
* Minimum 3-5 years of technical sales or solutions-based selling experience required
* Sound commercial acumen and margin awareness
* Excellent communication and relationship skills
* Self-motivated, process-driven and detail-oriented
* High emotional intelligence and a team-first mindset
* Australian work rights required for this position
