Key Accountabilities
* Provide individual and group counselling and short‐term therapeutic interventions within the scope of practice and under supervision.
* Implement the Professional Practice Framework for the NSW School Counselling Service.
* Collaborate with the principal, school executive, staff, and student support services to improve learning and wellbeing outcomes and advance departmental priorities.
* Support students with complex behavioural needs and contribute to their social, emotional, and academic development.
* Administer cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioural assessments; report findings and collaborate on interventions.
* Work with learning and support teams, parents, carers, and agencies to develop school‐based support plans.
* Respond as part of a team to serious incidents and provide support.
* Refer students or families to external agencies when appropriate.
Essential Requirements
* Commitment to the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy, Partnership Agreement with NSW AECG Inc., and Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
* General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance – NSW.
* Current, valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between work sites.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
