Job Description

* Ensure all training and assessment comply with legislative obligations.
* Develop, deliver, evaluate and review local training documents to support rail safety worker training.
* Conduct job tuition of trainees in accordance with Aurizon's standards.
* Develop gap training plans and conduct re-training and assessment of rail safety workers who are assessed as not yet competent.
* Coordinate route and traction assessments for Locomotive Drivers.
* Ensure all training and assessment documentation is maintained, completed and recorded.
* Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of training materials and methods and safety procedures.
* Conduct training, assessment and ongoing re-assessment as required to comply with relevant network safeworking requirements for rail safety workers.
* Support continuous improvement through in-field observations, coaching & reviews.
* Operate scheduled train services as a Locomotive Driver to maintain operating competency and assist with operational requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Mandatory).
* Certificate IV in Rail Operations (Mandatory).
* Registered Trainer & Assessor qualification
* Ability to apply best practice train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations.
* High level of facilitation, mentoring, coaching, and relationship building skills.
