About the role
Columba Catholic College, Charters Towers is seeking an experienced and dedicated School Officer - Administration (Payroll/Accounts) to commence as soon as practicable. This is a part time, permanent position completing 30 hours per week.
The School Officer – Administration is responsible for providing high level administrative support demonstrating a high level of self-initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, autonomy and dependability. The School Officer – Administration will be required to liaise with visitors, parents, staff and students to the College. The incumbent will present a professional image and create a welcoming, warm and positive impression. As the initial point of contact for many key stakeholders, the School Officer - Administration will deliver high quality customer service.
Key Accountabilities
1. Assist with accounts receivable/payable processes
2. Ensure accuracy and efficiency with data entry utilising required platforms
3. Provide information and respond to enquiries from the school community
4. Assist with financial and banking duties as requested
5. Ensure all employees prepare and submit the appropriate authorised paperwork for payment
6. Ensure payments are processed regularly with appropriate authorised documentation
7. Maintain account payable records and files
8. Assist with the preparation of fortnightly payroll data entry
Mandatory Criteria
9. Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
10. Minimum certificate level or higher qualification or equivalent relevant experience
11. Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
12. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria
13. Recent administration and/or reception experience in a school or other environment.
