Our Group Audit and Assurance (GA&A;) team are the internal audit function for the Group. Their primary purpose is to provide independent and objective assurance of the effectiveness of the Groups risk management, controls and governance processes. GA&A; is committed to keeping pace with digital transformation and to reimagining itself with the latest global best technology and innovation, to provide insightful assurance to the Board and support the business with new insights and risk coverage that puts customers first.
GA&A; has embedded digital assurance into audit activities, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools to improve the overall experience for employees. The next phase is enabling continuous, data driven assurance across the 3LoA. The Wholesale Credit Risk Audit team focuses on the Credit Risks within the wholesale sector (IB&M; and Business Banking). As a Senior Manager for Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR), you will provide objective assurance on credit risk management and work with business audit teams to ensure adequate coverage, liaising with Line 2 for audit delivery and business monitoring.
Responsibilities
Do work that matters Your role is to support the Executive Manager in making efficient decisions on the WCR portfolio and inform them on the effectiveness and efficiency of the portfolio. The team will add value through:
- Delivering a professional and highly valued audit service to the business
- Providing objective assurance on risk management to key customers (e.g. Group Executives and their leadership teams) to secure the financial wellbeing of the Bank’s customers
- Provide commercial insights as part of high quality audit reports, which can help customers in their business

- Support EM in building and delivering a dynamic, risk-based assurance for the Wholesale (Institutional Banking and Business Banking) Credit Risk audit team
- Lead effective and efficient planning and delivery of audits from Planning, Fieldwork, Reporting, and through to audit closure including administration of key audit stage-gates in the audit electronic workflow system
- Serve as a credit subject matter expert, providing robust challenge to the second line in strengthening their control setting. Additionally, offer specialised credit risk insights and support to peer audit teams across Institutional Banking and Business Banking to enhance the execution of related audit engagements.
- Lead management discussions and agree factual accuracy and ratings with the stakeholders, as well supervise the audit team in preparing concise audit reports and issues-log
- Adherence to audit methodology and QA Program, including timely and effective delivery of Quality Assurance file reviews and ensure any feedback is quickly and effectively addressed
- Create and develop independent and objective relationships within GA&A;, the bank and externally to enable effective knowledge sharing and collaboration
Other Qualities You May Possess Include
- Solid knowledge and experience in Wholesale Credit Risk management and/or Wholesale Credit Audit in a major financial institution
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and senior stakeholder engagement with the ability to present and influence senior management, and experience in internal audit and risk management (desirable)
- Good project management and organizational skills to deliver time-bound priorities
- Relevant internationally recognised auditing or professional accounting qualifications and/or International Credit related professional qualification; relevant internationally recognised auditing or professional accounting qualifications and experience with SQL or Tableau preferred
