Opportunity

At ALS, you will join a global team harnessing scientific testing and data‐driven insights to build a healthier future. This career‐changing position is in Hydrographics – an industry that blends science, engineering, the environment, data management, and cutting‐edge technology for Australia's largest Hydrographics team.

Day to Day Responsibilities

* Design, manufacture and test automated monitoring systems.
* Wiring, soldering and assembling terminals and 12V control panels.
* Produce and maintain technical documentation.
* Provide technical support to field staff, project teams and clients.
* Perform general technical and administrative duties.
* Project management and procurement.
* Potential for overseas travel for field installation of monitoring stations.

Qualifications and Essential Requirements

* Minimum Year 12 secondary education with strengths in Science, English, and Mathematics.
* Competent computer skills and practical/technical aptitude.
* Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to work as part of a team with limited supervision.
* Ability to use hand and power tools to fabricate and fitout instrument panels.
* Interest in telemetry communications, satellite, 4G, IoT, and datalogger coding/programming (CRBasic) is beneficial.
* Experience using AutoCAD and in a similar workplace or industry is desirable but not essential.
* Appropriate trade and/or tertiary qualification desirably but not essential.

Training and Development

* Extensive in‐house training and one‐on‐one mentoring, including Advanced Life Support First Aid, system, equipment and role‐specific technical training.
