About The Team
Within this team, there are Development Compliance officers that manage and investigate community allegations reported about unlawful development and building works to ensure better quality development and community safety. These officers investigate complaints from members of the public regarding unlawful operational work (change to ground level and/or vegetation removal), and unsafe buildings/structures. As the Development Engineer, your role is to support the investigation of these allegations.
About Your New Role
Provide engineering support and technical advice on matters under investigation by Development Compliance. Apply engineering expertise and judgement to advise appropriate action to be taken by the city in relation to dangerous and/or dilapidated buildings, structures or building work and dangerous or unlawful operational work. Review technical information and liaise with internal parties to support resolution of the matters. Gather evidence and prepare reports to be used in enforcement proceedings.
We're Looking For People Who Have
Bachelor's Degree in Civil and/ or Structural Engineering Drivers Licence Class "C" Unrestricted WHS Licence General Construction (White Card) Demonstrated effective analytical, problem-solving skills and investigative skills. A positive and energetic outlook and enjoy working within a team. Are proficient in professional communication (written and verbal). Deliver high quality service to customers (internal and external) and understand/respond to customer expectations appropriately. Can effectively manage multiple tasks and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
