RAATISC's Leaving Violence Program team is growing, and we have an opportunity for you to be our new Client Officer/Team Lead based in Cairns
The team are looking for a skilled and compassionate individual who is committed to providing high quality support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
About the program:
The Leaving Violence Program (Cairns Regional Trial) supports eligible victim-survivors to leave, or who are planning to leave a violent intimate partner relationship.
The Program can provide up to $5,000 in financial support (up to $1,500 in cash and $3,500 in goods and services).
Eligible individuals can also get up to 12 weeks of case support for referrals, risk assessments and safety planning.

Position Purpose:
Your primary role will be responsible for:
* Undertake a limited case load of case management and intake work to ensure program best practice across the Intake and Client Officer team.
* Undertake travel when necessary to remote communities across Cape York, Thursday Island, the Gulf and Townsville supporting stakeholder engagement, victim-survivors accessing the program and Client Officers.
* Undertake daily approvals of eligible referrals.
* Oversee client officer and intake caseloads and manage allocation of any new referrals.
* Undertake daily approvals for client financial requests.
* Ensure accurate data entry into the case management system.
* Training of staff in the Program processes and case management processes.
* Assist with Monthly data reporting.
* Along with your dedication to supporting our Mob, you will also apply your exceptional community engagement experience to create and maintain strong and supportive relationships with stakeholders.
The Opportunity:
* This is a full-time, Cairns based position.
* Provide trauma-informed, client-centred, and culturally safe ethical and accountable practices to support the team when required.
* Provide emotional and practical support, ensuring victim-survivors feel supported and empowered with options to make informed decisions that enhance their safety.
* Implement intervention strategies, ensuring timely and effective responses to immediate safety concerns.
About You:
* Ability to maintain a high level of privacy and confidentiality practices and organisational policy procedures.
* Ability to work in a culturally respectful and competent manner, with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander's young people, their families, and communities.
* Understand how Domestic and family violence impacts Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities and the challenges with accessing support services and safety.
* Have effective time management skills (punctuality, meeting deadlines, prioritising tasks) and the ability to provide leadership across the team.
* Be a productive, passionate, and positive contributor to an already established team that are dedicated to making a difference to vulnerable people's lives.
* Have a proficient level of computer skills and ability to learn software programs efficiently.
