Lake Macquarie City Council is seeking a highly experienced and drivenSenior Project Manager to lead the re-establishment of our Administrative Centre in Speers Point, following fire damage in November 2024. This is a unique opportunity to manage a high-profile restoration project from pre-handback through to full reoccupation, ensuring successful delivery for Council, the community, and key stakeholders.
This exciting role will:
* Lead the design, planning and delivery of the Administrative Centre re-establishment project.
* Support the Project Control Group and provide strategic advice on key decisions.
* Support Council's Procurement Team in selecting contractors and consultants to deliver the re-establishment project.
* Oversee construction contracts, resolve contractor issues, and ensure compliance.
* Administer project budgets and contracts in line with legislation and Council policy.
* Monitor project progress and recommend improvements to stakeholders.
* Champion risk management and foster a proactive project culture.
* Mentor project staff in contract administration and project delivery.
* Maintain project reporting and develop WHS, Quality, and Environmental Plans.
* Solve technical challenges and ensure stakeholder engagement throughout.

LET'S HEAR ABOUT YOU
* You will hold a Degree qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, combined with extensive hands-on construction experience.
* Strong background in contract management, ideally with experience in GC21 contracts and commercial building projects.
* Proven ability to manage financial reporting within construction environments.
* Demonstrated leadership capability with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to drive project success.
* Expertise in tracking and communicating project progress, ensuring delivery aligns with timelines and budget expectations.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors and stakeholders at all levels.
* Proficiency in MS Project, Word, and Excel to support project planning and reporting.
* NSW Workcover Construction Induction (White Card) – essential.
* Current and valid driver's licence.

* Competitive salary from $2,447.79 to $2,844.74 per week
