Where you'll be working

o Muswellbrook District Hospital is a rural hospital located in the Hunter Valley. The Muswellbrook township is surrounded by vineyards and situated on the banks of the Hunter River, located a 90-minute drive from Newcastle and 3 hours from Sydney.
o Muswellbrook District Hospital includes an Emergency Department, a Maternity Service, a General Ward, a Surgical Service with CSD, a Renal Dialysis Unit, and an Infusion Unit including Chemotherapy services.

About the Role

o The Clinical Nurse Manager is a key nursing lead at Muswellbrook District Hospital, supporting the Health Service Manager to lead and manage clinical services and teams in order to maximise the health outcomes for our community.
o As the Clinical Nurse Manager, you will be engaging and supporting a small team of nurse / midwifery unit managers to coordinate and monitor quality and safety of clinical services. You will also be the primary interface between our Renal Dialysis and Infusion Unit teams and the Health Service Manager.
o The Clinical Nurse Manager is initially supported by the facility Health Service Manager. A peer network of Clinical Nurse Managers is also available within the Hunter Valley Sector. The Sector Services team led by the Sector General Manager provides support to the facility via the Finance Manager, Quality Manager and Work Health & Safety Coordinator.

About You
This successful candidate is expected to have the necessary degree of clinical knowledge, expertise and experience to influence and guide our teams. The successful applicant will:

o Hold current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA

o Have the ability to develop a high-performing team by creating and embedding a culture of Excellence, safety and accountability across the facility

o Possess high level verbal and written communication skills and strong negotiation skills

o Participate in rostering, recruitment and retention of our clinical teams

o Have high level computer competency including Microsoft 365, Teams and SharePoint

o Understand the challenges associated with the management of a rural health service

Information for Applicants:

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases - t his is a Category A position. Please read and understand NSW Health policy directive (PD2022_030). All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in the policy.
