The Role
We are seeking an Engineering Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Team and oversee all maintenance programs to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of plant, equipment, and facilities across the property. This role is responsible for planning and coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance activities, managing a multi-skilled team across disciplines including electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, refrigeration, painting and general maintenance, and ensuring compliance and operational continuity.
You will also oversee grounds care, pool maintenance and event set-ups, ensuring all areas are maintained to the highest standard and team members clearly understand their roles and accountabilities, performing their duties safely and competently.
About You
* Extensive maintenance experience within a large organisation along with project management experience in property operations. (ideally within the hospitality industry, or similar).
* Building qualification will be highly regarded.
* Ensure the efficient maintenance & servicing of all utilities, building, facilities and equipment to meet the daily demands of the business, including The Ville Resort-Casino, Ardo, Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre (TECC) and other properties within the portfolio.
* Schedule all work to be done on a daily basis at a minimum of inconvenience to guests, patrons and employees.
* Responsible for working closely with all departments to coordinate the preventive maintenance program for guest rooms, public areas and safety systems.
* Ability to communicate and implement all statutory processes with a focus on compliance and risk management.
* Strong people leadership skills and capacity to develop a team culture focused on delivery of exceptional internal customer service.
* Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and demonstrated ability to manage staff and contractors to maintain safety standards.
* Able to effectively operate a Building Management System to diagnose faults and adjust operating parameters in the HVAC, electrical and other systems.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective and positive working relationships with key stakeholders and experience managing service contracts.
* Knowledge in Engineering Plant & Equipment Maintenance.
