**Who we are**
Electricity Division are offering permanent opportunities to work in the Marinus Link team in the Rewiring the Nation Office. We are seeking applicants who would like an opportunity to work with a wide range of energy and research stakeholders and contribute to the modernisation of Australia's transmission network and support Australia's transition to net zero.
The Rewiring the Nation Office (RtNO) drives and facilitates essential investment in our major electricity grids, to enable Australia's energy and climate policy goals to be achieved. The RtNO works closely with the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), energy market bodies and the states and territories to deliver the $20 billion Rewiring the Nation program. Work includes negotiations with states and territories, policy and regulatory analysis and advice, and oversight of and involvement in large transmission infrastructure projects all over Australia.
The Marinus Link Team manages the Commonwealth's 49 per cent shareholding in the Marinus Link project. Marinus Link is an essential part of the modernisation of Australia's transmission network and is a key piece of infrastructure required to support Australia's transition to net zero. Marinus Link will improve the reliability of the grid by unlocking Tasmania's dispatchable hydro generation to the National Electricity Market (NEM). The team manages the Commonwealth's interests in the program, specifically matters such as Final Investment Decision, future stages of the program and the interface with Tasmanian generation projects to ensure the program's contribution to Australia's energy and climate policies.

**The Job**
The Marinus Link Team is responsible for supporting the Commonwealth's interest in the Marinus Link project including project delivery, inter-governmental relationships and project finance. You will work as part of a team to deliver on the relevant work program. Your duties will depend on the role, but may include:
- Undertaking research and analysis (including data, legislative/regulatory, and financial).- Developing advice based on that research and analysis.- Drafting ministerial and senior executive briefing (both oral and written).- Coordinating ad hoc requests related to work of the team.- Coordinating materials for senior governance and decision-making forums.- Liaising with stakeholders, including state and territory governments and other Commonwealth departments and agencies.- Managing government processes, such as procurement requests.
- Supervising and developing staff.
**What we are looking for**
**Knowledge and experience**- Sufficient expertise to drive at least one of the following workstreams:
- Project Delivery: experience working on delivering infrastructure projects. Project managers or senior engineers of small sized projects ($10M+), assisting roles in larger projects ($100M+), or technical / advisory experience in megaprojects ($1B+) beneficial. Energy and transmission experience preferred, but other disciplines also considered.
- Project Finance: Experience leading analytical work on financial investment decisions, asset management, debt and equity transactions, due diligence or similar.
You do not need to be an expert across government, project delivery and finance. For Executive Level roles, we are looking for deep expertise in one segment with the balance learnt on the job or leveraging experience within the broader team.
**Skills and capabilities**
