About The Role

John Hunter Children's Hospital is seeking a motivated and capable professional to provide high-quality administrative support to the delivery of exceptional paediatric nursing care. This role requires strong organisational and time management skills, with previous experience in rostering highly regarded. The successful applicant will demonstrate effective problem‐solving abilities and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast‐paced clinical environment. You will be supported by the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and the wider administrative team at JHCH. A comprehensive orientation will be provided, including dedicated time with the NUM and Clinical Support Officers (CSOs), to ensure a smooth and supported transition into the role. About You

You are a reliable and adaptable administration professional who thrives in a busy, purpose‐driven healthcare environment. You are highly organised, confident in managing competing priorities, and capable of working across multiple systems with accuracy and efficiency. Experience in health administration or a similar role is desirable; however, we are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate initiative, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to liaise effectively with a range of staff. A proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and focused in a dynamic setting are essential.

Additional Information

An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part‐time vacancies. To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
