Main duties of the job
Clinical responsibilities:
* Assess plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care to improve health and well-being and meet the healthcare needs of individuals.
* Perform and interpret spirometry (ARTP Registered)
* Perform routine nursing tasks:Clinical observations,Height/ Weight
* Provide a holistic approach and deliver evidence-based care.
* Administer and monitor medication consistent with protocols, standards and legislation.
* Enable patients, families and carers to develop their knowledge and understanding about their health and well-being and be as self-managing as possible.
* Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist patients in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
* Assist in the provision of nursing care within the context of primary care for patients with mental health problems.
* Offer advice about adult and child vaccinations.
* Delegate aspects of care clearly and appropriately, adopting the principles of safe practice and assessment of competence.
* Ensure that all daily checks are recorded accurately and in a timely manner e.g. Spiro/FeNo equipment, defibrillator, emergency equipment, oxygen.

Assist insetting up the Community Diagnostic Centre at the start of the session andensure equipment is appropriately stored at the end of the shift.
