The Illawarra Brain Injury Service (IBIS) is seeking a senior social worker to join the team based in the Shoalhaven. IBIS is an interdisciplinary team providing specialised community and outpatient brain injury rehabilitation.
This role will provide essential and multifaceted roles including individualised counselling, emotional support and education to the client and /or their family; assistance with community reintegration, assistance with practical supports, advocacy and facilitation of social supports.

**What you'll be doing**
Provide senior social work clinical leadership within the Illawarra Brain Injury service (IBIS) including optimisation of client care delivery, as well as supporting the mentoring and development of staff.
Facilitate interventions to develop a client's independent living skills to optimum functioning. This will be based on client goals and in collaboration with the IBIS team and any relevant third parties. Intervention will be provided within setting deemed most appropriate i.e. outpatient or community based.
The position will be required to case manage a number of IBIS clients through their rehabilitation program. The position is required to provide timely reports that meet industry standard for clients that have compensation.

This role is a **Category A **role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.
For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children’s Guardian.

**Selection Criteria**:
- Extensive post graduate experience in providing rehabilitation services to people with a traumatic brain injury.
- Extensive experience in the provision of education and counselling to carers and families.
- Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.
- Demonstrated high level ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing, and demonstrated competence in the use of electronic information systems.
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and demonstrated capacity to provide clinical supervision.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence, with the ability to travel in accordance with position responsibilities.
