Overview
The barista is responsible for being the master craftsman of all beverage and food items offered by PJ's Coffee. They create a positive environment for customers and staff, delivering fast, efficient, friendly service. The role upholds the brand's reputation and integrity, emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, safe work practices, and core values. It also provides a pathway to growth within the company.
Responsibilities
* Present a positive image of PJ's customers and coworkers
* Proactively suggest new beverages, drink enhancements, snacks, and pastries to improve the overall experience and customer knowledge
* Prepare all beverages and food to meet PJ's Coffee specifications and customer satisfaction
* Ensure exceptional customer service as it pertains to staff operation and store upkeep
* Follow cash handling procedures accurately
* Maintain sanitary, safety, and aesthetic standards by completing daily shift checklists and managing par levels
* Alert management to operational needs, equipment failures, and required improvements
* Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety rules
* Attend training sessions to advance coffee knowledge and work skills, applying them to operations
Qualifications
* Barista experience is not required; training will be provided in PJ's coffee methods
* Outgoing and engaging personality
* Exceptional communication and relationship‐building skills
* Ability to multi‐task and thrive in a fast‐paced team environment
* Proficiency communicating via multiple channels (email, phone, project management software, conference calls)
Compensation
$13.00 per hour
