About the Role
The Practice Nurse plays a key role in delivering advanced, evidence‐based care within a dynamic rural general practice setting. Working collaboratively with GPs and the multidisciplinary team, you support a wide range of health needs—from acute presentations to chronic disease management—while contributing to preventative health initiatives and coordinated, person‐centred care. In this autonomous role you apply high‐level clinical judgement and leadership to support service delivery, drive quality and safety outcomes, and make a meaningful difference across the lifespan of your patients within a supportive community‐focused environment.
Benefits
* Isolation bonus: AUD$3,695 for 1 year, AUD$11,085 for 2 years, and AUD$7,390 for each subsequent year (pro‐rata for part‐time employees).

Requirements
* Aged Care Pre‐Employment Screening: Current National Police Certificate is required as the position works in an identified aged‐care facility.
* Relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licenses.
* C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
* Pre‐employment screening including criminal history checks.
* VPD risk role may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
* Probation period may apply.
Location
The North West Hospital and Health Service delivers public health services across approximately 300,000 square kilometres, supporting remote communities throughout North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria. The role is based in Julia Creek, a regional community.
