Company Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-performing innovation division within one of the Big 4 Banks. The team supports a portfolio of well-established ventures and is known for driving new digital products and experiences to market. This division operates with agility and autonomy, while still benefiting from the backing and structure of a major financial institution. The function is lean, with a flat structure that enables direct exposure to senior leadership and rapid decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and executing quarterly risk evaluations across multiple digital ventures and their product releases.
- Identifying and assessing impacted risk classes, controls, policies and regulatory obligations stemming from changes being introduced.
- Assessing changes to the business's risk profile and feeding into formal risk reporting and making sure they are updated bi-monthly.
- Performing control testing and assurance activities, particularly in relation to both operational and tech risk.
- Supporting the uplift of the risk and control environment by challenging existing processes and providing input on adequacy and effectiveness.
- Reviewing incident trends and developing insights into issue profiles, emerging risks, and key remediation activity.
- Participating in reviews triggered by new product development or regulatory change (e.g., new KYC processes, AI integrations).
- Maintaining and enhancing the risk dashboard, ensuring accurate insights into control performance, compliance status, and incident trends.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Demonstrated experience in a Risk Manager or Senior Risk Manager role from the banking industry
- Strong background in operational and technology risk - Risk In Change & Internal Controls experience is essential to this role
- Hands-on experience with control testing and risk assessment frameworks.
- Ability to assess risks associated with technology stacks, including understanding potential control gaps in innovative or emerging tech (e.g. AI models, customer data use, cyber controls).
- Excellent report writing and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to deliver insights to executive-level forums.
- This person would need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to catch-on to tasks quickly.
