About the role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Infection Prevention Control Coordinator to join our team on a full-time basis.

Brisbane Private Hospital is a 181-bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 17 operating theatres, conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands. Our specialties include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, rehabilitation, and general surgery, along with Brisbane’s leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Unit.
Responsibilities of the Infection Control Coordinator

Lead and oversee Infection Prevention & Control practices and strategies.
Practice independently and collaboratively, taking accountability for assigned portfolios under the guidance of the Quality and Risk Manager.
Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team including doctors, managers, and community members.
Implement risk management strategies to ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors.
Ensure hospital compliance with standards, regulations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate infection control programs, including staff health initiatives, to ensure high-quality patient care and staff safety.
Manage and deliver hand hygiene training programs, including staff education and data validation.
Possess the right to work in Australia.
Hold a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification.
Maintain current registration with AHPRA without restrictions.
Have an immunisation certificate or be working towards one.
Possess at least 3 years of post-graduation clinical experience as an IPC Coordinator, Public Health professional, or Clinical Nurse specializing in Infection Prevention and Control.
Demonstrate negotiation, conflict resolution, and complex issue management skills.
Apply knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control standards to research, identify trends, and manage outbreaks.
Utilize audit findings to identify improvements and educational opportunities.
Understand ACQSHC National standards, focusing on Standards 2 & 3.
Exhibit confident interpersonal skills, demonstrating inclusiveness, proactivity, and customer focus.
