About us: Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy1 will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a Centre for emergency care, medical inpatient and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities. Operational Services provides a catering, housekeeping, ward support and fire safety and security service to the entire Gladstone Hospital facility and surrounds. The Ward Support Service includes patient assistance and porterage, waste and linen removal as well as the specialist functions of orthopaedic casting, operating theatre and mortuary assistance. About the role: * Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all personnel, property, and assets across the Gladstone Hospital Facility and associated Health Support Services. This includes actively upholding fire safety protocols and security measures to maintain a safe healthcare environment. * Promptly report any concerns related to workplace or patient safety to the appropriate clinical or non-clinical authority. * Monitor and manage security systems, including Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance, alarm systems, and electronic access control, to detect and prevent unauthorised activities. * Supervise and audit a range of security and safety operations, including patrol activities, staff escorts, static monitoring, CCTV operations, lost property management, facility lock-up procedures, controlled access points, duress alarm testing, fire safety inspections, and traffic management. About you: * Understanding of standards, policies, acts, and regulations relating to the provision of Fire Safety and Security Services within health facilities. * Ability to respond to unexpected change in the workplace. * Demonstrate appropriate behaviour required of a leader of Fire Safety and Security Services working within the healthcare environment including communication and interpersonal skills. * Demonstrate well-developed interpersonal skills including communication, consultation, and the ability to objectively review incidents involving occupational violence. * Demonstrate the ability to operate a range of computer information systems.
