Your Opportunity
Join Berry Street's Residential Care Program, providing accommodation, physical and emotional care, and support to children and young people aged 10 to 17 under Child Protection orders. These individuals come to us when other Out of Home Care options are not feasible. The role requires resilience, compassion, and a commitment to their well-being. Our roster operates 24/7, with day shifts (7am to 11pm) and overnight shifts (11pm to 7am).
On the Job, You Will:
- Work collaboratively within a dedicated team to deliver high-quality therapeutic care.
- Implement best practice therapeutic interventions and program guidelines to ensure safety and care quality.
- Support young people's education, social, and recreational pursuits, fostering independence.
- Create a safe, nurturing environment, managing household duties and providing nutritious meals.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Effective team player with strong communication skills and active listening.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, maintaining professional boundaries.
- Flexible, adaptable, and capable of multitasking.
- Creative thinker with a non-judgmental approach.
- Driver's license (minimum green P's) is essential.
- Cert IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or equivalent qualification is required.
- Must complete mandatory upskilling units as required by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
