The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Operations & Maintenance Lead to support a highly secure Commonwealth facility based in Alice Springs.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing a multi-disciplinary team delivering essential infrastructure support across power, cooling, and facility systems within a 24/7 operational environment.
You will play a key role in ensuring reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across one of Australia's most strategically important secure sites.
About the Role
Reporting into senior engineering leadership, you will lead all aspects of operations and maintenance delivery across the facility, ensuring high availability of critical infrastructure systems.
This role is focused on facility and infrastructure systems, including:
* Power generation and distribution
* Mechanical and cooling systems
* Building and industrial control systems
* Asset management and maintenance programs
This position does not include responsibility for IT or data centre rack operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary operations & maintenance team
* Plan and deliver preventative and corrective maintenance programs
* Drive system reliability and infrastructure performance
* Manage cost, schedule, risk and service delivery outcomes
* Engage directly with senior site stakeholders and customer representatives
* Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and contractual requirements
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
About You
You are an experienced facilities or infrastructure leader with a strong background in high-reliability environments.
You will bring:
* Proven experience leading operations & maintenance teams
* Strong understanding of critical infrastructure systems (power, HVAC, building systems)
* Experience working within highly regulated, industrial, defence or mission-critical environments
* Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Strong safety leadership and compliance experience
* Ability to operate in structured, process-driven environments
* Current experience working within TSPV-classified secure environments
Location
Alice Springs, Northern Territory
This is a site-based role supporting a secure facility in a remote environment. Relocation support may be available.
Security Requirements
Active TSPV (Positive Vetting) security clearance – mandatory
Candidates without an active TSPV will not be considered
Clearance upgrades are not available for this position
