Life as a Strategy Analyst
As a Strategy Analyst, you’ll work closely with clients across industries to analyse how their business is working today, and make recommendations for how it could be improved tomorrow. Supporting as part of a project team, you’ll drive innovation and help clients shape new business models, define the case for change, and execute business transformation agendas.
Working closely with experts from across Accenture, you’ll utilise your creative and strategic thinking skills to help clients stay ahead in an ever-changing world. You could be structuring and performing analysis and primary research, developing business cases and plans, or developing your skills to help clients understand the business applications of leading-edge technology capabilities. You will help to shape organisations that meet the needs of all stakeholders for current and future generations.
Whatever you’re doing today, it could be different tomorrow, as you’ll move between projects of varying durations in a range of industries. Regardless of what you’re working on, you’ll be constantly collecting and analysing data to understand our clients’ organisations, and then presenting it in easily digestible forms to deliver high-impact data-driven business insights.
What we’re looking for
We look for outstanding performers, with exceptional creative and critical thinking skills. You’ll need to exercise your strategic thinking from day one, so we look for evidence of this in your past experiences – which could involve strategic projects, experience working in a start-up, or a previous internship in a strategy or consulting role.
You’ll have strong leadership and communication skills, and you’ll be confident presenting to an audience and interacting with senior stakeholders. Change is the only constant in our line of work, so you’ll need to be flexible, agile, resilient, and able to work with ambiguity and constantly changing demands, all with a proactive and driven approach. You will also need to be commercially aware, and able to critically analyse current trends in business, economics and technology.
Quantitative skills are a must for any strategy consultant, as you will often find yourself analysing complex data. So we look for evidence of your mathematical and analytical skills and will test you on your ability to analyse data using statistical methods to find insights and patterns. Experience using Excel at an advanced level is a big bonus, as is any experience using data visualisation tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. We’re also interested to see how you have used Generative AI in a responsible way to improve a process, increase productivity, or support your work.
To join our graduate programme, you’ll need to have achieved a bachelor’s degree from an accredited UK university, or international equivalent, by the time you join us. In Strategy, we accept applications from all degree disciplines and are keen to discover how your studies have helped you develop the skills we are looking for. We value strong academic performance but do not have minimum grade requirements for our programmes. We also accept applications from holders of higher degrees.
Where you’ll work
Accenture is a people-first business that thrives on strong relationships with our clients and colleagues. We come together to collaborate and share knowledge at least three times per week, either at our clients’ offices or at one of our own offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester or Newcastle.
With this in mind, you will need to live within a commutable distance of your assigned office, which will be in London, and you will be expected to come into the office regularly. Due to the nature of our work, you may be delivering projects on client sites anywhere in the UK, and sometimes outside of the UK. You will be expected to work on the client site or in your assigned office for a minimum of 3 days a week, but potentially more often depending on your project and business requirements.
Additional information
We receive an extremely high volume of applications for all programmes, and it is sometimes necessary to close applications earlier than anticipated. We would recommend early application to avoid disappointment. Candidates should only apply to one programme and geography at any one time.
