Your new role:

The Nurse Manager Patient Flow has a very important role in the transitioning of the transfer of care of patients at TSH and Community Services. This role involves the management of patients through acute medical/surgical wards on site. Liaising with the ED NUM/Team Leaders, Theatre NUM, medical teams, medical imaging, NM Demand Management and Executive team.
The Nurse Manager Patient Flow is responsible, through a whole of hospital approach, for ensuring effective patient care coordination across The Sutherland Hospital (TSH) and Community Health Services. The Nurse Manager will be actively engaged in facility-based initiatives and NSW Health Strategies including but not limited to, the Patient Flow Portal and 'Whole of Hospital' initiatives which contribute towards meeting key National targets and ensuring timely access to patient care. This include the timely coordination, monitoring and provision of progress reports. The Nurse Manager has responsibility for the preparation and reporting of daily status reports, facility performance measures and KPI's, and the coordination of facility corrective strategies to assist address variance against targets.

The ideal candidate will have:
* Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
* Possesses relevant tertiary qualifications in health management or working towards same
* Broad clinical and operational experience within a complex healthcare environment, with demonstrated understanding of KPI's associated with patient flow and access, including ETP, ESPT and Transfer of Care Targets
* Ability to coordinate and manage patient flow within an acute hospital wide setting. Demonstrated understanding of patient flow systems approach
* Proven high level interpersonal, written and verbal communication and negotiations skills and an aptitude to utilise relevant information technology platforms including Patient Flow Portal, Firstnet, iPM, ORBIT and Microsoft Office Suite programs
* Sound leadership skills and ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload
