We are now on the look out for an experienced Operator Trainer to work across our Melbourne sites, supporting the growth, capability and performance of our operational workforce. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operator who enjoys mentoring others, building capability on-site and helping teams succeed. About the Role Working closely with Supervisors, Leading Hands and HR, you’ll deliver practical hands-on training, mentoring and competency development across a range of heavy civil plant and equipment. You’ll help identify skill gaps, support workforce mobilisation and ensure our crews are trained, compliant and project-ready. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, enjoys coaching others and wants to make a genuine impact across a growing business. Key Responsibilities Deliver practical on-site training and mentoring to operators and labourers Assess plant operating competency and identify development opportunities Develop and implement individual and team-based training plans Conduct operator assessments and trials for new employees Support workforce planning and mobilisation through upskilling initiatives Maintain training records, skills matrices and compliance documentation Work collaboratively with site leadership and HR teams Promote safe, efficient and high-quality plant operation standards Plant & Equipment Exposure includes: Excavators Graders Dozers Dump Trucks Rollers Scrapers Compactors Watercarts Other civil construction plant as required About You Extensive experience operating heavy civil plant within civil construction Strong knowledge of subdivision and bulk earthworks environments Passion for mentoring and developing others Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to work autonomously across multiple sites Current White Card and Drivers Licence Relevant plant tickets/licences Cert IV in Training & Assessment highly regarded (or willingness to obtain) Why Join Us?
